Social Network- Company

For the last couple of years people have been taking social media as a new and exciting discipline that for large parts has been made up as it goes along. It is a way of advertising, something that you did in the older days by placing an ad in newspapers. Business  such as coca cola  understand that no matter how great the slogan is or how spectacular the TV commercial looks, you must still work conscientiously to ensure that you remain  number one and a possible, competitive force. As a result, business uses social networking to reduce the time and money they used to spend on placing ads in newspapers and other media. Social networking sites are now a vital part of many marketing and sales strategies. A social networking done correctly will not only improve their productivity but also help to engage with your customers and create a whole new culture within the company. Therefore, they cannot be blocked but at the same time they cannot be allowed to drain company resources or used as vectors for data loss or malware diffusion. An incorporated advance providing sensible, coarse access control, secure encryption and data monitoring, and complete malware protection is mandatory for businesses to operate flexibly in the modern generally networked world.

What an intriguing post you have plotted down here……. Coca-Cola is brand of drink I use to drink but have neglected to taste it ever since I found out that it is equivalent to 30-40 teaspoons of sugar and it contains high doses of caffeine. YUCK!!!!!!

Back to blogging in companies, if I was the CEO of Coca Cola, I would follow the trend of what people are doing these days, if 500 million people are on facebook, then facebook is the way to go for my company. I will create a page account, call it ‘Coca-cola’, get 1 billions friends on my page and tell them that ‘Pepsi’ contains rat poison.

I agree with you that social networking is not improving productivity, but it is improving the relationship between the comoany and customer. Social networking is good to be use for the customer support service, so the customer can receive the instant feedback from company. This helps company to build its brand. Interesting article about how twitter change the customer service : http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2009-11-18-twitterserve18_ST_N.htm

Yes Kelly, I have checked out your link. It is awesome. I realise one time that I had to call my telecommunications provider to get help about my mobile phone service. I directly went to the website and checked some mobile phone service deals. I was on the website for 10 minutes and suddenly a chat box application popped up and asked me if I needed help by asking him any questions through that chat box.

Amazing, I got what I needed and was completely surprised that Optus had thought outside of the box and delivered this customer support chat box method to their customers and potential consumers.

    Thumbs up for Optus.

It is definitely an interesting view point on how social media is being used.I completely agree with Kelly in that it is starting to improve the relationships between the customer and the company. I like how companies have been trying to be different on their Facebook fan pages where fans are now being heavily involved this is compared to how it was just being used to post company information to fans. Do you think that this may just end up being so common that people will lose interest?

Hi, I believe it is already common for all the companies to be part of the social network. People always like to know about new things….If people will lose interest on it well I guess it depend on how good or bad the company make their social network. For instance, if the company make it fun and attract to the user I believe the user could not get bored or lose interest on it….

All depend on how business interact with the user….
